# Specivo live demo

The demo is a real Specivo instance running the latest release. It belongs to ACME Waste & Recycling, a fictional company we use for examples, and its one project holds the kind of work an operations team tracks: dispatch, route planning, compliance and the office IT. Everything in it is made up. You can browse it without an account.

## How the demo works

The demo uses Specivo's public read-only access. An administrator makes a project public and opts it in, and from then on people without an account can read its issues and wiki. Everything else stays behind sign-in. You can use the same setting for your own public projects, such as an open source project or a community.

There are no shared demo accounts and sign-up is closed, so the demo is read-only for everyone.

## What you can do

- Browse the project and its issues: types, statuses, priorities, assignees, subtasks, links between issues and the comments on them.
- Read the wiki, with its page tree and links to issues.
- Search issues and wiki pages by keyword.

## What's switched off

- **AI features.** Semantic and hybrid search run an embedding model for every query, and the built-in MCP server lets AI agents read and change the tracker. Both need a signed-in user, so they are off in a public demo. On your own server they run locally, even air-gapped, with no per-query cost.
- **Editing.** You can't create or change issues, comments or wiki pages.
- **Views for signed-in users.** Boards, sprints, the roadmap, time tracking, wiki history and attachments are not shown to visitors.

## Try everything on your own server

To see the AI features and everything else, run Specivo yourself. It takes about 15 minutes with Docker: follow [Self-host Specivo on Ubuntu](https://specivo.io/self-host-specivo-docker/), or read the [documentation](https://specivo.io/docs/specivo/).
